NVU Versus FrontPage

Thousands of web sites are being created each day as several want to give their businesses an online image or create sites for personal use. Because of this, a plethora of software has been created that can help one to create a professional site in just a few minutes time. Such software makes it so that even the person with the least knowledge of web coding can create presentable web sites giving the complete novice an opportunity for an online presence.

The two most popular software are FrontPage and NVU. Both were created for the same purpose. Though FrontPage has been around for quite some time, NVU is gaining ground, especially since many are discovering how great and easy to use the software is. Let's compare the two to see why this is the case.

FrontPage is web building software that has been created by Microsoft, and it costs a couple hundred dollars. It is very simple to use: plus, there are a variety of templates to choose from. No knowledge of coding is necessary to build a web page though some html can be inserted should there be a desire. Though this is the case, there are not many options to choose from

FrontPage does have a tendency to insert code over the html or other coding should some be manually inserted. And sometimes, the code can become scrambled. This becomes a hassle as the program thinks things should go one way, and the one writing the site feels it should be another.

NVU on the other hand has many more options. It has an easy-to-use interface, and PHP and CSS editing is also available. The software uses very little resources which enables it to run on machines that have little memory. Pages come out clean, and the code is not scrambled as it would be in FrontPage.

NVU is also simple to operate making it user friendly for the novice. There are templates available; an pages can be built in no time at all! Should any coding need to be tweaked by hand, it can be done with ease.

Another thing that puts NVU ahead of FrontPage is that it can be obtained for free. It is also open source which means that anyone with the knowledge of software development can create add ons or enhance NVU as a whole. This is certainly not available with Microsoft FrontPage.

Though NVU is great software to se for building web ages, sometimes bugs can be found causing a small bit of difficulty. However, the difficulty is not at all compared to what is caused by FrontPage. The fact that the software is open source gives anyone the right to point things out and quickly eradicate problems making all users content.

NVU has a wonderful reputation as there have been many good reviews written about it all over the web. Not to mention, those who use it feel that it measures up to the standards of Dreamwever, another very costly, highly sophisticated web building software. As more discover what they can get with NVU, word will spread making it one of the top software for building sites.
